About the sequence
Slow Flow Yoga with Sun Salutations A, B & C ~ 90 minutes
Make a meditation of your practice. This full length session carries you through a flow of three classic Sun Salutations (Surya Namaskara). ~ the A, B & C series. As you practice these graceful sequences repeatedly over time, the movements will start to become a part of you. Regular practice frees you up to breathe your way soulfully through each flow, without over thinking.
In the Sun Salutations we explore Lunges in different ways:
Is my lower belly facing forward? Or is it turning to the side wall? Are my hips squaring to face forwards?
Is my breast facing forward? Or is it turning to the side wall? Are my shoulder joints squaring to face forwards?
Am I gazing forward? Or is my head turning one way or another? Are my ears above my shoulders, above my hips?
Classically, we're aiming for a neutral position of the spine, with the lower belly, the breast and face all facing forward in a lunge. Still always remember - your body ~ your yoga. It's possible you may have a limitation in your hip or shoulder joint or spine that won't let you arrive in this neutral position. We're organisms, not machines. Soit's more important to ask yourself:
"Am I experiencing pain or discomfort?" (Pain is your body's warning signal to come out of the pose. We never want force or strain or to sit with pain in yoga practice.)
"Do I feel steady? Do I feel at ease"
"Am I working harder than I need to in this pose?" (How can I relax a little more?)
Make a series of explorations, playing with adjustments to your position, your attention, your breath. Discover stability and ease in your pose.
